Inscribed to the inside top, "Gebaut für Generalarzt Ferdinand Sauerbruch" and, "In aller Teilen selbst gebaut im Jahre 1940 Copie nach Stradivari Micheal Dötsch Geigenbaumeister Berlin Wilmersdorf."
