A VIOLIN, 18th CENTURY

Labeled, "Andreas Guarnerius fecit Cremone sub titulo Sanctae Teresiae 1693."

This violin belonged to Bernd Benker (1942-2021). After studying in Dresden and Berlin, he took part in the 1966 Tchaikovsky Competition and was then appointed first concertmaster of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin for the following 25 years. He was also part of the Berlin Oktett.
